After graduating from the Faculty of Law at Hosei University, he joined Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma as a medical representative. He then built his career as a recruiter specialising in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries at both Japanese and international agencies, seeing the needs of employers and specialists alike. He founded xCARE Inc. in January 2022.

A licensed pharmacist with a master's degree in pharmaceutical sciences. He joined Fujisawa Pharmaceutical (now Astellas Pharma) in 1983 and was assigned to clinical development. Over postings that included five years in the United States and two in Germany, he led global development of immunosuppressants as project manager and secured approvals in Japan, the US and Europe. He has since brought several new drugs to market with companies across all three regions.

Professor of Early Clinical Development at Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine, and Professor at the Institute for Advancement of Clinical and Translational Science, Kyoto University Hospital. After graduating from Yokohama City University School of Medicine, she worked at the National Cancer Center before taking up her current position in 2020. She supports the development of academic seeds and conducts investigator-initiated trials herself.
